The Town of Marion announced Oct. 16 that the Department of Public Works, through contractor P.J. Keating Company, will complete final paving for roadway improvements on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026.
The work covers Spring Street from Old Landing Cemetery to the fire station, Water Street from Main Street to South Street, and the entirety of Sparrow Lane.
The schedule and completion of the work is subject to change due to weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances. During paving operations, a temporary traffic detour may be implemented, and residents and motorists are asked to follow all traffic signs and police details directions.
Driveway access for residents within the paving area will be maintained throughout the project, though there may be small delays. Residents are asked not to park vehicles along the roadway during the construction period. Motorists can expect delays while traveling through the construction area and should seek alternate routes.
