Marion water main work on Route 6 to pause for winter
Marion announced Oct. 30 that the Wareham Road (Route 6) water main project will pause around mid-November 2026 and resume in spring 2027, after the contractor finishes work near Marion Pointe and the Point Road intersection.
The Town of Marion announced Oct. 30 an update on the ongoing water main installation project on Wareham Road (Route 6).
The contractor is currently working at the entrance to Marion Pointe, near 59 Wareham Road. Once that work is finished, crews will move to the intersection of Wareham Road and Point Road to complete the connection and install hydrants on the new water main.
Work is scheduled to pause for the winter around mid-November 2026 and resume in spring 2027. Temporary trench pavement is installed at the end of each work day. Final pavement, consisting of a mill and overlay of the full width of the travel lane, will be installed when the project concludes in spring 2027.
The town noted that the schedule and completion of all work are subject to change due to weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances.
